A Gas Free Philosophy
At the heart of this build is a fully gas free setup. This decision streamlines the van’s systems while enhancing safety, simplicity and long term usability. By relying on a robust electrical platform rather than gas appliances, the owner gains flexibility in where they can travel and how they live on the road.
Cooking is where this philosophy really shines. Instead of the usual internal slide out kitchen, the owner opted for a different approach. Inside, a slide out bin and pantry replace the cooking module, keeping the interior uncluttered and highly practical for everyday living. Storage is maximised, access is effortless, and everything has a dedicated place.
For cooking, the focus shifts outdoors. At the rear of the van, a double external slide out provides space for a BBQ and food preparation. This setup invites you to cook where the scenery is, not boxed inside. It is ideal for warm evenings, social campsites and those moments when the view deserves to be part of the experience. Internal or external cooking options mean the van adapts to the conditions, not the other way around.
Interior Design That Makes a Statement
Step inside and the personality of this build is immediately clear. Slate grey and rainforest green cabinetry sets the tone, chosen to perfectly coordinate with the van’s external green wrap. It is a bold yet grounded colour palette that feels at home in nature while still delivering a refined, modern aesthetic.
Brass accents elevate the space, most notably the brass gooseneck tap that becomes an instant focal point in the kitchen. It is functional, tactile and quietly luxurious, proving that rugged adventure and thoughtful design can coexist beautifully.
Soft close drawers, marine vinyl flooring and double glazed windows with integrated blinds and insect screens all contribute to a calm, comfortable interior environment. Natural light filters through the roof skylight, while Sirocco fans and a Dometic Freshjet air conditioner ensure airflow and climate control in any conditions.
Comfort Without Compromise
A full internal shower and toilet provide true independence. The owner selected a DryFlush toilet, a smart upgrade that reduces water usage and extends off grid capability. Less water consumption means longer stays between refills and greater freedom when travelling remotely.
Power to Go Further
Energy independence is a cornerstone of any Unearthed RV build, and this van takes it a step further. A custom 620 amp hour lithium battery system provides serious capacity, allowing the owner to comfortably power all appliances without compromise. This is paired with a Redarc Alpha 75 system for reliable charging and power management.
There are three 180 watt solar panels on the roof continually replenish the system, supporting extended off grid travel with confidence. Whether running the 190 litre Bushman fridge freezer, the NCE microwave, air conditioning or charging devices through USB A and C points, power is always on hand.
A 24 inch smart TV, Fusion stereo system and strategically placed lighting round out the modern conveniences, ensuring comfort and entertainment wherever the van is parked.
Water and Storage Solutions That Work Hard
Fresh water capacity sits at 136 litres, complemented by a 50 litre grey water tank. This balance supports extended travel while remaining mindful of weight and efficiency. A 12 volt water pump delivers consistent pressure, while the deep kitchen sink makes washing up easy after a long day outdoors.
Storage has been thoughtfully integrated throughout the van. Overhead cupboards, a wardrobe with automatic lighting, and the customised slide out pantry system ensure everything has its place.
Built to Handle the Track
This campervan is not just about looking the part. It is built to go places. A Bravo snorkel allows for cleaner air intake and added confidence in dusty or wet conditions. A rear ladder with integrated storage, custom roof rack and spare wheel carrier increase carrying capacity without cluttering the interior.
The Vida ladder and storage box system, paired with a rear towbar, make this van exceptionally versatile. Whether towing, carrying additional gear or accessing the roof, functionality is always within reach.
A compressor, UHF radio and Axis security system add further layers of capability and peace of mind. An external shower offers the simple luxury of rinsing off sand, salt or dust before stepping back inside.
